Peterborough Ice Rink (Planet Ice Peterborough)

Peterborough Ice Rink (also known as Planet Ice Peterborough) is on the northwestern edge of Peterborough, just a few minutes off the A47. It's an older arena, it could do with better lighting, but it does have a good bar.

The arena is home to a number of hockey teams, including the Peterborough Phantoms of the NIHL National League. It is just one of 41 ice rinks in the UK that are home to competitive ice hockey teams.

Peterborough Ice Rink parking can be found at the rear of the building. It is a paid car park. Make sure you pay, as I've heard the parking company is very quick off the mark when issuing tickets. We would also suggest you get there a little ahead of the game as the car park can get full.

How Cold Is Peterborough Ice Rink?

If you haven't been to a hockey game before, you need to know that ice rinks are cold places (not a surprise!). And the closer you are to the ice, the colder you will be. Also, hockey rinks in the UK aren't heated, so temperatures in the arena drop in line with outside temperatures.

Peterborough Phantom seating isn't allocated unless you have a season ticket. The away fans block at Planet Ice Peterborough is block 11, just next to the away bench.

For the best views, sit as close to the centre ice as possible and mid-way up a block. Generally, views are good at this arena as you are close to the ice. However, but its a slightly gloomy rink and the lighting isn't great.
