Braehead Ice Rink (Braehead Arena) is a relatively new multipurpose venue. You will find it inside the Braehead Shopping Centre, so you can take advantage of the shops and food outlets while visiting the rink.
The complex is on the banks of the River Clyde, around a 15-minute drive west of Glasgow City Centre. It is just off the M8, making the arena easily accessible.
The arena is home to a number of ice hockey teams, including the Glasgow Clan of the Elite Ice Hockey League. It is just one of 41 ice rinks in the UK that are home to competitive ice hockey teams.

Braehead Ice Rink Parking
Parking is very straightforward at Braehead ice rink, as the arena has more than 6,500 free parking spaces. There is also less congestion after the game than you would imagine for a venue of this size.
Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey Team
Glasgow Clan is an ice hockey team playing in the UK’s Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).
The EIHL is the highest-level professional league in the UK, with 10 teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The season runs from September to March/April, and the teams will play two (sometimes three) games a week, one home and one away. The most common days for games are Saturday and Sunday, but the team will play some on Fridays or mid-week.

Paisley Pirates Ice Hockey Team
Paisley Pirates is an ice hockey team playing in the SNL (Scottish National League). The team is based at Braehead Ice Arena.
The SNL is the second-highest league in Scotland behind the Elite Ice Hockey League. The league has eight competing teams (see below).

The teams charge for entry to games, generally £5-£10 for a non-concessionary adult and reduced rates for children and OAPs.
SNL teams compete for the regular season title, the playoff title, and the Scottish Cup. The regular season runs from September to late March, and the season concludes in early April with a playoff weekend for the semi-final and final games.
How Cold Is Braehead Ice Rink?
If you haven’t been to a hockey game before, you need to know that ice rinks are cold places (not a surprise!). And the closer you are to the ice, the colder you will be. Also, hockey rinks in the UK aren’t heated, so temperatures in the arena drop in line with outside temperatures.

Glasgow Clan tickets give you assigned seating, and the away fans are normally seated in block H. It is a very well-designed arena; the seats are comfortable, with a decent amount of legroom. You should have a good view of the game wherever you sit.
