Telford ice rink is in Telford town centre, just a few minutes drive from the M54. It is part of the Southwater leisure development and on the edge of Telford Town Park.
Telford ice rink is an older rink that was refurbished in 2012; it is home to a number of ice hockey teams, including the Telford Tigers of the NIHL National League. It is just one of 41 ice rinks in the UK that are home to competitive ice hockey teams.
Information For Telford Ice Rink
Telford Ice Rink Parking
Telford Ice Rink’s location in the town centre means that there are plenty of parking options, but you are unlikely to find free parking.
The best option is the Southwater multi-storey car park, which is just a few minutes’ walk from the rink. The daytime rates are £3.00 for 4 hours, on Sundays and after 5 pm you pay a flat rate of £1.00. Note that cash payment isn’t accepted at Southwater.

Usually, the Basingstoke Bison would play in this league, but the team has pulled out of the 2023-2024 season due to rink refurbishments.
The season runs from September to March/April, and the teams will play two (sometimes three) games a week, one home and one away. The most common days for games are Saturday and Sunday, but the team will play some on Fridays or mid-week.
These games include those played in the league and for the Autumn Cup. Most of the cup games are played early in the season.
The league season typically finishes in early April with a playoff weekend where the top 4 teams fight for the league championship.

How Cold Is Telford Ice Rink?
If you haven’t been to a hockey game before, you need to know that ice rinks are cold places (not a surprise!). And the closer you are to the ice, the colder you will be. Also, hockey rinks in the UK aren’t heated, so temperatures in the arena drop in line with outside temperatures.
For those with some experience of UK rinks, we would rank the temperature of the Telford Raiders ice rink as average for the UK.
Telford Ice Rink Seating & Away Fan Blocks
Telford Tigers tickets give you assigned seating. The away fans block at the Telford ice rink is at the far end of the balcony, the end closest to the bar. The blocks at Telford aren’t numbered/named, but any ticket numbered 105 to 119 will be in the visitor’s section.
All seats at Telford have good unobstructed views.
