This Sheffield ice rink (known as Utilita Arena) is a multi-purpose arena near Meadowhall, northeast of Sheffield city centre.
Home to the EIHL Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team, the arena is one of the largest and most comfortable in the UK. It is just one of 41 ice rinks in the UK that are home to competitive ice hockey teams.
This rink shouldn’t be confused with the nearby Sheffield Ice, a smaller arena where the Sheffield Steeldogs ice hockey team plays.
Information For Utilita Arena Sheffield
Sheffield Ice Rink Parking
The Utilita Arena has a large car park, divided into two sections: Car Park A and Car Park B. Game day tickets are £6.00 and must be bought in advance through Ticketmaster.
Tickets do sell out, so buy yours as soon as possible. Also, note that you can’t buy tickets online on the day of the game. You may still be able to buy tickets from the box office, but this is inconvenient when you can’t park close to the box office without a parking ticket.
An alternative, marginally cheaper, option is a small car park on Broughton Lane, between The Noose & Gibbet pub and Big Filla. You will need cash to pay and arrive well before game time. However, it is a convenient location, and advance bookings aren’t needed.
Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey Team
The Sheffield Steelers is an ice hockey team playing in the UK’s Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

How Cold Is The Sheffield Ice Rink?
If you haven’t been to a hockey game before, you need to know that ice rinks are cold places (not really a surprise!). And the closer you are to the ice, the colder you will be. Also, hockey rinks in the UK aren’t heated, so temperatures in the arena drop in line with outside temperatures.
For those with some experience of UK rinks, you will find that Sheffield is warmer than most in the country. You may not even need a coat unless you are seated very close to the ice.
Sheffield Ice Rink Seating & Away Fan Blocks
Sheffield Steelers tickets give you assigned seating, and the away fans are officially seated in block 102 ( but can spread into 202 as well). So far, we haven’t found a seat at this arena that doesn’t give a good view of the game. However, some may feel they are a little too far away from the action in the upper sections.
