The fantastic new facility replaces a 22-year-old rink and is designed with ice sports in mind whilst still offering opportunities for social skaters. The ice rink is larger than its predecessor and Auchenharvie Ice Rink is now able to accommodate local and regional level ice hockey, ice dance, figure skating and speed skating competitions and offers scope to train, develop and increase club membership. The curling community have also benefited from the inclusion of an additional lane, which will help to support the development of local clubs.

Originally opened in 1964 "The Friendly Rink O' The Border" has undergone many changes and improvements over the years.
